GRUNDY COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The Grundy County Historical Society was founded over a quarter a century ago by seven women who wanted to preserve the history and cultural heritage of Grundy County Tennessee. Many years later in February of 2004 the Grundy County Historical Society was granted non-profit status under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code.
Grundy County Historical Society Heritage Center is a library and research center containing thousands of books, maps and genealogical resources and a museum with permanent exhibits depicting themes of history that grew out of the plateau that have had national or international impact.
The mission of Grundy County Historical Society Heritage Center is to inspire all of the people and communities of the South Cumberland Plateau, its coves and valleys, to understand who they are and how they are connected in history with interrelated pathways.
This website seeks to promote use of the facilities of the Heritage Center through information as to what may be found in the Heritage Center and the services it offers to the public.
